COME GIOCANO I BAMBINI OGGI?

    

Basta che guardi giocare i miei nipoti, per capire che le loro possibilità sono infinite.

Nell’era tecnologica sono attratti dai telecomandi e l’ultimo modello della robotica, che fino a qualche anno fa sembrava fantascienza.

Ma per i loro Nonni e Nonne non fu così. Ai loro tempi dovevano inventarsi l’attrezzo da gioco che quasi sempre era fatto di materiale di scarto o poco altro. La strada era per loro il posto per avventurarsi senza pericoli, dove incontravi sempre un altro bimbetto o bimbetta per condividere le ore libere assieme, e mettere in pratica l’ingegno.

Io mi ricordo che mi divertivo tanto a saltare la corda.

Poteva essere un gioco individuale come di squadra. Durante la ricreazione a scuola, nel cortile stavamo tutte insieme per questo gioco tanto divertente. Si prendeva una lunga fune: due amiche la impugnavano alle due estremità ed iniziavano a girarla, mentre un bel gruppetto si sistemava in fila pronte a  saltare a sua volta una dopo l’altra nella fune, cogliendo il giro giusto per non annodarsi i piedi e poi cadere davanti a tutte.

Mi divertivo anche con i semplici sassetti, erano necessari solo cinque. Gli posavi sul palmo della mano, le lanciavi in aria con un gesto delicato per poi raccogliere il più possibile sul dorso della mano, e recuperare quelli caduti per terra con un veloce gesto.

Per i maschietti il gioco più gettonato erano le bilie, ed ovviamente per loro non mancava mai il pallone per calciare, magari ai muri delle case facendo infuriare i proprietari.

Ma quella è un’altra storia!!!

Just watch my grandchildren play, to understand that their possibilities are endless.

In the technological age they are attracted by remote controls and the latest model of robotics, which until a few years ago seemed like science fiction.

But for their Grandparents it was not like that. In their time they had to invent the play equipment that was almost always made of waste material or little else. The street was for them the place to venture without danger, where you always met another little boy or girl to share free hours together, and put your ingenuity into practice.

I remember that I had so much fun jumping rope.

It could be an individual game or a team game. During recess at school, we would all be together in the courtyard for this very fun game. You would take a long rope: two friends would hold it at both ends and start twisting it, while a nice little group would line up ready to jump one after the other on the rope, taking the right turn so as not to get their feet tangled and then fall in front of everyone else.

I also had fun with simple pebbles, only five were needed. You would place them in the palm of your hand, throw them in the air with a delicate gesture and then collect as many as possible on the back of your hand, and recover those that fell on the ground with a quick gesture.

For the boys the most popular game was marbles, and obviously for them there was never a shortage of a ball to kick, maybe at the walls of the houses making the owners furious. But that's another story!!!

ULTIMO GIORNO DELLE ELEMENTARI PER LA BIMBA... GIUGNO 2025!!!!

 

Arriva l’ultimo giorno di Scuola, la Nonna e Nipotina ne parlano durante la colazione mentre la bimba si spalma la nutella sulla fettina di pane tostato, e la Nonna sorseggia il caffè fumante nella sua solita tazzina della Thun con scritto, “caffe al volo”.

 “Nonna” disse Chiara con un  velo di tristezza nella voce,  “lo sai che oggi è l’ultimo giorno di scuola? Mi dispiace lasciare le elementari, non sarò più con le mie brave Maestre, che mi hanno insegnato per cinque anni, e forse perderò anche qualche compagno!” 

La Nonna con un sorriso dolce la guardò mentre la bimba addentava il pane sporcandosi le labbra con la cioccolata.

“Ma no tesoro, non dispiacerti, le Maestre le rivedrai ancora. I tuoi compagni come te siete cresciuti ed è arrivato il momento di frequentare le Scuole Medie. Entrerai ancora per tre anni dalle stesse porte, e vi ritroverete ancora tutti insieme, anche se alcuni siederanno in un’altra aula. Sono sicura che ad accogliervi ci saranno altrettanto bravi Professori!”.

“Comunque, Nonna, nel pomeriggio faremo una bella festa finale, balleremo, canteremo, reciteremo e alla fine andremo a cena tutti insieme. Vieni anche te alla festa?” chiede la Bimba con gli occhi che brillavano di  entusiasmo.

La Nonna continua con un sorriso, “devi pensare a tutte le belle cose che avete fatto. Ma ti ricordi quella volta che sono venuta in classa a leggervi il Calendario che avevo scritto con i miei compagni della scuola degli anziani? Quelle storie del passato? Anche noi, sai, avevamo un bravissimo Professore!”

“Sono già le ore otto”, esclama la Nonna, “ adesso preparati che è l’ora di partire”, accollandosi lo zaino per lei.

Chiara per l’ultima volta indossa in fretta il suo grembiulino con il collettino bianco.

E la Nonna continuò a parlare di ricordi:

“Sai, Chiara, mi ricordo il tuo primo giorno di scuola, era Settembre 2020. Che brutto quel periodo del Covid. Vi siete presentati a scuola con la mascherina, come pure le Maestre e tutti gli altri che vi hanno accompagnato, compresa me. Quell’anno era proprio tremendo, non poter mostrare il vostro bel faccino perché dovevate stare tutto il giorno suoi banchi con la mascherina. Io vi pensavo mentre ero a casa, e la cosa mi dispiaceva tanto."

 Fece una pausa con il tono addolcito.

“Ma adesso tutto quello è passato, pensiamo alla festa, e stai certa che ci sarò anch’io a festeggiarvi e ad applaudirvi con tutto il cuore!!”.

 

The last day of school arrives, Grandma and Granddaughter talk about it during breakfast while the little girl spreads Nutella on a slice of toast, and Grandma sips steaming coffee in her usual Thun cup with the words, “caffe al volo” written on it.

“Grandma” said Chiara with a hint of sadness in her voice, “do you know that today is the last day of school? I’m sorry to leave elementary school, I won’t be with my good teachers anymore, who taught me for five years, and maybe I’ll even lose some classmates!”

Grandma with a sweet smile looked at her while the little girl bit into the bread, dirtying her lips with chocolate.

“But no, darling, don’t be sorry, you will see the Teachers again. Your classmates have grown up like you and the time has come to attend Middle School. You will enter through the same doors for three more years, and you will all be together again, even if some will sit in another classroom. I am sure that there will be equally good Teachers to welcome you!”.

“Anyway, Grandma, in the afternoon we will have a nice final party, we will dance, sing, act and at the end we will all go to dinner together. Are you coming to the party too?” asks the Little Girl with her eyes shining with enthusiasm.

Grandma continues with a smile, “you have to think about all the beautiful things you have done. Do you remember that time I came to class to read you the Calendar that I had written with my classmates from the senior school? Those stories from the past? You know, we too had a great Professor!”

“It’s already eight o’clock,” Grandma exclaims, “now get ready because it’s time to leave,” carrying the backpack for her.

Chiara quickly puts on her school apron with the white collar for the last time.

And Grandma continued to talk about memories:

“You know, Chiara, I remember your first day of school, it was September 2020. How awful that Covid period was. You showed up at school with a mask, as did the teachers and everyone else who accompanied you, including me. That year was really awful, not being able to show your pretty face because you had to sit at your desks all day with a mask on. I thought about you while I was at home, and it made me so sad.

She paused, her tone softening.

“But now all that is over, let’s think about the party, and be sure that I will be there too to celebrate you and applaud you with all my heart!!”.

 

 

 

Un viaggio nella storia di Luni

 

Un tuffo nella storia di Luni:

antichi fasti tra marmo e mito

A giugno, le Alpi Apuane ci hanno offerto l'opportunità di un viaggio affascinante, non solo nella natura e nel marmo, ma anche nella storia, con la visita all'antica colonia romana di Luni, conosciuta anche come Luna. Situata strategicamente in Liguria, tra il fiume Magra e le Alpi Apuane, Luni e un crocevia di antiche strade come l'Aurelia e la Via Francigena, un importante sito archeologico e rinomata per i suoi vini DOC.

l Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Luni ci ha accolto con un percorso espositivo che narra la ricca storia della colonia. Grazie alla guida, abbiamo ammirato vari tipi di marmi, capitelli e busti romani (spesso privi di testa, che veniva aggiunta in seguito per ritrarre personaggi specifici). Particolarmente suggestive sono state, la statua infantile forse raffigurante l'imperatore Nerone, e le statue in pregiato marmo lunense. I mosaici sono stati un'altra meraviglia: quello della "Domus di Oceano", con la sua raffigurazione del dio-fiume e una scena marina vibrante, e un altro con le maschere di Medusa e del Sileno a due facce, simboli di saggezza e dissolutezza. 

Il museo ha anche illustrato le origini preistoriche di Luni, con reperti che testimoniano la frequentazione del territorio fin dal Paleolitico. La foce del Magra era un punto strategico conteso tra Etruschi e Liguri, come dimostrano le tombe liguri e i corredi funerari rinvenuti.

Dopo il museo, abbiamo esplorato il sito archeologico e l'anfiteatro, dove abbiamo avuto la fortuna di assistere a una "Rievocazione Lunensia". Un'esperienza immersiva con laboratori didattici, una battaglia tra legionari e Liguri Apuani e la degustazione di tipiche ricette romane.

                                           

       Fondata nel 177 a.C. inizialmente divenne colonia romana, dopo la sconfitta dei Liguri Apuani, Luni, con il suo porto e la disponibilità di marmo apuano, divenne un fiorente centro economico e culturale. La sua importanza è ancora visibile nella planimetria quadrangolare della città, con resti di mura, un teatro, terme e ricche domus.

Purtroppo, a partire dal IV secolo d.C., Luni iniziò un lento declino. Cambiamenti del fiume Magra, insabbiamento del porto, aree paludose e forse un terremoto, uniti a mutate condizioni politiche, portarono a un progressivo spopolamento. L'antica metropoli si trasformò così nelle rovine che ammiriamo oggi.

Oggi, Luni è un'area archeologica fondamentale per comprendere la storia romana, con le rovine del foro, il tempio della dea Luna, l'anfiteatro, il teatro e le terme, completate dalla vasta collezione del Museo Archeologico Nazionale. 

Un luogo imperdibile per gli appassionati di storia.

“C’È SEMPRE DA IMPARARE”

Recentemente alcune amiche mi hanno chiesto,

“Emma ma te sai cosè il granturco a 8 file?”. Quella domanda mi mise in difficultà.

“No, non lo conosco”, risposi timidamente sentendomi ignorante in materia.

Mi difendo e dico, “non conosco niente di agricoltura. I miei genitori hanno sempre lavorato in fabbrica, mia Mamma era operaia di un’azienda tessile mentre mio Babbo fece esperienze in diversi lavori e tra questi anche nella fabbrica metallurgica. A mia volta anch’io sono stata dipendente in una fabbrica tessile per 40 anni, e certamente questa lavorazione non c’entrava proprio niente con i campi di grano”.

Recentemente sui social è apparso un invito di un corso rivolto agli anziani, un campo estivo presso un noto Podere, dove presentano proprio una lezione sul “granturco a 8 file”. Perfetto, ho pensato, è proprio quello che mi ci vuole. La curiosità mi ha spinto a partecipare.

GRANTURCO 8 FILE 

Al primo appuntamento, la maggior parte dei partecipanti conoscevano il lavoro dell’agricoltore, raccontando ricordi ed esperienze vissute nei campi durante la loro infanzia. Io invece non ne avevo da raccontare!

Ascoltavo con grande interesse mentre gli esperti descrivevano l’origine del grano, le tecniche di semina e raccolta.

Non c’è che dire il lavoro del contadino è davvero faticoso.  

Era una bella giornata di sole, e dopo la lezione di teoria siamo usciti volentieri nel Podere per vedere dal vivo il campo seminato, con le piantine ancora timide.

Appena fuori tra le piante di susine, ciliegie, e frutti di bosco in un recinto c’erano anche 4 asinelli che aspettavano la nostra attenzione.

Gli attrezzi dell’agricoltore erano a portata di mano, ed anch’io ho provato ad arare intorno alle piccole piantine appena nate. Certo, per me era solo un gioco, ma chi lo fa di mestiere è un lavoro “duro” e impegnativo.

Nella mia famiglia la farina di granturco è molto usato e le ricette mettono sempre tutti d’accordo. Oltre alla polenta con i suoi vari contorni, una specialità del mio paese sono i “mignecci”, una specie di “crisciolette” che si cuociono nei cosìddetti “testi”.

Questa è una ricetta tradizional che può essere preparata a secondo dei gusti.

L’impasto è molto semplice.

C’è a chi le preferisce fatti totalmente di farina di granturco, amalgamato con l’acqua, sale e un filo d’olio. Ma l’impasto può anche essere preparato mescolando metà dose di granturco e metà di farina di grano.

…ma l’ingrediente che li rende ancora più appetitoso è l’aggiunta di fettine di pancetta, sistemate sopra mentre cuociono.

“THERE IS ALWAYS MORE TO LEARN”

Recently some friends asked me,

“Emma, ​​do you know what 8-row corn is?”. That question put me in difficulty.

“No, I don’t know,” I replied timidly, feeling ignorant on the subject.

I defended myself and said, “I don’t know anything about agriculture. My parents have always worked in factories, my mother was a worker in a textile company while my father gained experience in various jobs, including in a metallurgical factory. I, too, was an employee in a textile factory for 40 years, and this work certainly had nothing to do with the corn fields.”

Recently, an invitation to a course aimed at the elderly, appeared on social media, a summer camp at a well-known farm, where they present a lesson on “8-row corn.” Perfect, I thought, that’s just what I need. Curiosity pushed me to participate.

At the first meeting, most of the participants knew the work of the farmer, telling memories and experiences lived in the fields during their childhood. I, on the other hand, had nothing to tell!

I listened with great interest while the experts described the origin of the wheat, the sowing and harvesting techniques.

There is no denying that the work of the farmer is really hard.

It was a beautiful sunny day, and after the theory lesson we gladly went out to see the sown field to see the shy growing of the plants.

Just outside among the plum, cherry and berry trees in a pen there were also 4 donkeys waiting for our attention.

The farmer's tools were at hand, and I also tried to plow around the small newly born seedlings. Of course, for me it was just a game, but for those who do it professionally it is a "hard" and demanding job.

In my family, corn flour is used a lot and the recipes always satisfy everyone. In addition to polenta with its various side dishes, a specialty of my country is the "mignecci", a kind of "crisciolette" that are cooked in the so-called "testi".

CHERRIES

Avere un albero di ciliegie nel giardino di casa è una golosità per tutta la famiglia. La raccolta però rimane molto difficile perché i frutti che prima maturano sono immancabilmente quello più in alto, quelli che godono dei primi raggi del sole. Ci vuole pazienza ed anche tanta attenzione per salire sulla scala e gustare al meglio quelle “palline rosse” che crescono a grappoli tra le foglie verdi della pianta.

                                                 

Molto di questo frutto finisce beccato dagli
uccellini, i volatili distinguano bene le cose buone. Intorno ai rami non mancano le zanzare ed api che infastidiscono la raccolta.

A me piace scegliere con cura quelle da raccogliere, e le più belle le abbocco subito.

Ci sono tante ricette appetitose da fare con le ciliegie, o meglio dire, ogni tipo di ciliegie ha la sua specifica ricetta.

Ricordo quando mia Suocera preparava le “maraschine” sotto spirito.

La  Marasca è un tipo di ciliegia dal sapore leggermente più acido delle ciliegie dolci che conosciamo. Rispetto alle altre ciliegie, il frutto della Marasca è piccolo e di un colore intenso vicino al nero. Nascevano selvatiche nei campi abbandonati del paese. Erano perfette per essere conservate a lungo nel liquore.

Oggi la marasca è un tipo di ciliegia che si trova molto raramente in commercio.
