God save the KING!!

I’ve grown up singing the National English Anthem “god save the QUEEN”.

During my childhood, when I lived in Melbourne (1958/68) before the beginning of a film at the cinema, before the beginning of a show at the theater, before a football match, or before any important event, it was a rule for who was present, to respectfully stand up and sing the anthem together.

After 70 long years that this song has been dedicated to the QUEEN now it has come the time to change, yes because from now on we’ll hear it with the word “god save the KING”.

I don’t know how many centuries will have to pass before we can repeat “GOD SAVE THE QUEEN” or maybe ever again.

I think that I will not live his kingdom with the same esteem and affection that I lived the reigning of his Mother,Queen Elizabeth, but I will sincerely wish to him

“LONG LIFE TO THE KING!!!!”

 

 

Sono cresciuta cantando l’inno nazionale Inglese “dio salvi la REGINA”.

Durante la mia adolescenza, quando ho vissuto in Melbourne (1958/68) prima di ogni film al cinema, prima di ogni spettacolo al teatro, prima di una partita di calcio, e prima di ogni importante evento publico, era regola alzarsi rispettosamente in piedi e cantare l’inno nazionale.

Dopo 70 lunghi anni che il canto è stato dedicato ad una REGINA adesso è arrivato il tempo di cambiare, si perché da ora in avanti lo sentiremo con la parola “dio salvi il RE”.  Potrebbero passare dei secoli prima di poter ripetere

“DIO SALVI LA REGINA” oppure mai più. Chi lo sa!!!!!!

Non vivrò il suo regno con la stima e l’affetto che ho provato per sua Madre la Regina Elizabeth, ma con tutta sincerità voglio augurare a King Charles,

“LUNGA VITA AL RE!!!!”
