GRANDPARENTS’ DAY 2024

 

 

Nella casa c’è una stanza che mette tutti d’accordo, quella è la cucina. E’ li dove ci ritroviamo insieme a tavola davanti alle pietanze fatte con mani amorevoli.

Preparare un pasto con la NONNA è sempre stato un grande piacere per tutti i bambini del mondo.

 “come sono buoni i biscotti fatti dalla Nonna, (nata 1953) oggi mi ha insegnato la sua ricetta, e mi sono divertita un sacco!”, racconta orgogliosa la bambina alle sue amiche.

Anch’io imparai qualche ricetta buona dalla mia carissima NONNA Maria (nata 1896) e dalla carissima NONNA di mio Marito (nata 1894). Lui ha sempre apprezzato la cucina della sua Nonna Zaira. 

Mi diceva “come fa buono la salsa verde mia Nonna non la fa nessuno!”.

 A lei piaceva usare la mezza-luna per tritare gli ingredienti.

La sua specialità erano anche le tagliatelle all’uovo, per tagliarle usava un coltello lungo e molto affilato, riusciva a tagliarle tutti di uguale misura, come se avesse usato un metro. A me insegnò a fare lo strudel di mele con l’aggiunta di tanti altri ingredienti. Ricordo che questo dolce era più buono più passavano i giorni.

Anche la mia Nonna cucinava per la famiglia. Ogni tanto dopo aver fatto un buon brodo di carne cucinava il bollito in umido con le patate, il sughetto era veramente appetitoso, da leccarsi i baffi.

Anche i NONNI si dedicano ai
nipoti costantemente.  La loro vigilanza è molto importante, ed insieme alla Nonna sono veramente “angeli custodi”.

La vita di Nonni e Nonne è molto impegnativa, ma quando prendiamo tra le braccia un nipotino è una gioia immensa.

Diventare Nonni è un dono prezioso che ci hanno regalato i nostri figli!!!!

 In the house, there’s a room where everyone agrees, and that’s the kitchen. It’s there where we find ourselves together at the table in front of the dishes made by loving hands.

Preparing a meal with GRANDMA has always been a great pleasure for all children in the world.

 “the biscuits made by my Grandma are very delicious, (born 1953) today she taught me her recipe, and I had a lot of fun!", the little girl tells her friends with pride.

I too learned some good recipes from my dear GRANDMOTHER Maria (born 1896) and from my husband's dear GRANDMOTHER (born 1894). He always appreciated Grandma Zaira's cooking. He told me

 "my GRANDMA makes the best green sauce ever!.

 She used the half-moon hand cutter to chop the ingredients.

Her specialty was also egg pasta, she used a long and very sharp knife to cut them, she was able to make them all the same size, as if she had used a tape measure. She taught me how to make apple strudel with the addition of many other ingredients. I remember that this dessert was better the more the days passed.

My grandmother also cooked for the family. Every now and then, after making a good meat broth, she cooked the boiled meat with potatoes, and the sauce was really appetizing, “mouth-watering”.

Grandfathers also devote themselves to their grandchildren.  Their vigilance is very important, and together with Grandma are truly "guardian angels".

The life of Grandparents is very challenging, but when we take a grandchild in our arms it is an immense joy.

Becoming Grandparents is a precious gift that our children have given  us!!!
