Finally we can go back and sit on the theater seats. Yesterday I brought my grand-daugher to a show at Coreglia Antelminelli, inside a small theater named "BAMBI". It was a one man show, his performance was very entertaining. On the stage he was able to do many things, getting great laughs from the audience.  At the end all the kids bought the book and waited for his didication to each one. We passed a very joyful afternoon. Chiara was happy and granny too. 

The actor's name is Eduardo Nardin.....

La vita ci riserva tante sorprese....

 

                       20 Ottobre 2021...

           

         C'era una volta, di tanti anni fa, un paesino tra le Montagne Apuane,  dove gli abitanti erano tutti una grande famiglia. I bambini e bambine giocavano nelle cariole, frequentavano lo stesso asilo e crescevano felicemente insieme. Fra questi bimbetti c'erano anche Emma ed Alfredo. Le loro mamme lavorarono insieme nella fabbrica della Cucirini Cantoni Coats ed erano molto amiche.

               Nel 1958 i genitori di Emma decisero di emigrare in Melbourne. La bimba aveva solo 5 anni quando dovette staccarsi da tutti gli affetti ed amicizie. Dopo 10 lunghi anni (1968) il babbo e la mamma, con la loro famiglia rientrarono nel paesello. Al  ritorno questa bambina era diventata una teenager di 15 anni. Molto disinvolta rinnovò la sua amicizia con i ragazzi e ragazze che ritrovò nel posto. Il destino avvicinò, questi due ragazzi, Emma ed Alfredo in un sentimento amoroso. Dopo poco tempo si fidanzarono e riempirono di gioia le   famiglie, specialmente le care Nonne. 

              Dopo tre anni di fidanzamento salirono la scalinata che porta al Duomo di San Jacopo per unirsi in matrimonio...il 20 Ottobre 1973....

Era una tipica giornata autunnale, nuvoloso ma non c'era stato bisogno dell'ombrello.  

Diventarono giovani genitori di due bei figli.......

Le favole sono belle quando alla fine si legge........"e vissero felici e contenti..."  

 

BOOKS….

I don’t read much, but I own a lot of books. Some have been given to me as gifts and others I bought them. I have many English tales for kids, because I started to read to my grandchildren when they were very young. I have all sorts of books. Poems, biographies, tales, and so many interesting stories. I keep them all on an appropriate book column shelf which is very high and it can carry a lot on it.

I have a special book which is very dear to me. It was a gift from my  mate when I left school in Melbourne to come back to Italy…1968.  She is an Italian girl, her name is Rita. This book talks about a sad story and it has been produced into a movie too.

The title is “A PATCH OF BLU”…

It's mushroom season....

 It's mushroom season..

My husband and I have never been good mushroom pickers . I have some  friends that know the places where mushrooms grow and they can find a lot of kilos.  They are able to prepare  them in many special recipies and store in jars for months. Drying the mushrooms is a very safe way to store.  My dad enjoyed going in the bush to find mushrooms but he wasn't very lucky. He was  happy when he came back home with 4 or 5 and liked cooking them too. My mother-in-law always found baskets full of mushrooms. She cooked deliouse plates too.

 If you add galic and catmint in the mushroom recipie  it will bring out the best of it's flavour.

E' la stagione dei funghi

Mio marito ed io non siamo mai stati dei "fungaioli." ho amici che conoscono i posti dove crescono i funghi  e ne tro'vano tantissimi chili. Sono abili a prepararli in tanti modo speciali e conservarli in barattoli per  mesi. Esiccare i funghi è un modo sicuro per conservarli. Mio babbo si divertiva andare nel bosco alla ricerca, ma non era fortunato. Quando ne portava a casa 4 o 5 era felicissimo e li piaceva anche cucinarli. Mia suocera ne trovava a cesti pieni. Cucinava dei piatti molto deliziosi.

 Con l'aggiunta di aglio e niebitella ne risalta meglio il sapore. 

E voi andate a funghi???

Stasera sono arrivato qui, sotto il monte Antelao (quello al centro, cugino della Pania).

This evening I arrived just here,  at the foot of Antelao mountain ( the one in the centre, Pania's cousin) 

In hotel,"Antelao" anche lui, per qualche giorno per fare escursioni in questa parte delle Dolomiti.

(qui chiedo ad Emma di entrare in questo post perchè aggiunga lei la traduzione della frase 😊)

ci sono arrivato in macchina, certo 😊😊

Poi escursioni a piedi, oggi un assaggio fino a 2230 metri s.l.m.

Veramente luoghi stupendi ed emozionanti, sperando che presto possano tornare ad essere meta di gite organizzate, senza timori di contagio e soprattutto rispettose delle regole base per mantenere l'integrità dell'ambiente.   

Visioni belle sulla montagna, da noi, ce ne regalano anche le Apuane. Qui le altezze sono maggiori.
