ADDIO PAPA FRANCESCO

Dal primo momento del TUO Pontificato, quel semplice “Buona Sera” fu per noi un abbraccio immenso. Con il TUO atteggiamento umile Sei entrato nel cuore e nelle case di tutto il mondo.

Ad ogni persona: povera, ricca, Reali, Potenti, peccatori, ammalati, credenti e non, HAI portato parole di speranza e di amore.

Con gentilezza HAI introdotto innovazioni, consapevole di vivere in un mondo che cambia, e con coraggio HAI spinto la Chiesa Cattolica a modernizzarsi e camminare insieme con il progresso. 

HAI combattuto per la giustizia a coloro feriti, da chi rappresentano il nome di Dio.

Viaggiando più dei TUOI predecessori, HAI incontrato molte persone di culture diverse. SEI stato sempre accanto agli ultimi, portando un abbracciato, una accarezza, HAI benedetto luoghi, e ci HAI insegnato a perdonare. TI piaceva stare in mezzo alla folla per conoscere da vicino le storie della gente.

Rendevi la celebrazione della Santa Messa un momento di festa.

Durante il Pontificato HAI vissuto i lunghi mesi della pandemia. Ricorderò il TUO cammino solitario sul sagrato della Basilica con la piazza vuota, e pregare ai piedi della Santa Croce, “Dio non lasciarci in balia della tempesta” e all’invito a “remare tutti insieme”.

Le guerre hanno colpito il mondo, ed ogni giorno il TUO grido per la PACE si faceva sempre più disperato.

Rimarranno nella storia le parole d’affetto di Papa Giovanni XX111, quando disse, rivolto ai più piccini “date una carezza ai vostri bambini”, ed il ricordo di Papa Wojtyla, il  quale, appena eletto pronunciò con il suo simpatico accento “se mi sbaglio mi corregerete”.  

Porterò nel cuore, il ricordo dei tuoi saluti, quando, ogni Domenica, dopo l’Angelus ci auguravi  “buon pranzo” e umilmente chiedevi “pregate per me”.

Una Domenica, anche io e mio Marito eravamo presenti in Piazza San Pietro per ascoltare la tua voce e ricevere la tua benedizione.

GRAZIE Papa Francesco per il volto umano e misericordioso della Chiesa.

 

Goodbye dear Pope Francesco

 From the first moment of YOUR Pontificate, that simple “Goodnight” was an immense embrace for us. With your humble attitude you entered the hearts and homes of the entire world.

To every person: poor, rich, noble, powerful, sinners, sick, believers and non-believers, YOU brought words of hope and love.

With kindness YOU introduced innovations, aware of living in a changing world, and with courage YOU pushed the Catholic Church to modernize and walk alongside progress.

YOU fought to obtain justice for those who were hurt, from those who represent the name of God.

Traveling more than YOUR predecessors, YOU met many people from different cultures. YOU were always close to the least fortunate, bringing a hug, a caress, YOU blessed places, and YOU taught us to forgive. YOU liked to be in the crowd to get to up to know people's stories .

You made the celebration of the Holy Mass a moment of peaceful joy.

During your Pontificate, YOU lived through the long months of the pandemic. I will remember YOUR solitary walk on the parvis of the Basilica with the empty square, and praying at the foot of the Holy Cross, "God, do not leave us at the mercy of the storm" and the invitation to "row all together".

Wars have struck the world, and every day YOUR cry for PEACE became more and more desperate.

The affectionate words of Pope John XXIII will remain in history, when he said,  "give a caress to your children", and the memory of Pope Wojtyla, who, as soon as he was elected, said with his nice accent "if I'm wrong you will correct me".

I will carry in my heart, the memory of YOUR greetings, when, every Sunday, after the Angelus you wished us "enjoy your lunch" and humbly asked "pray for me".

One Sunday, my husband and I were also present in St. Peter's Square to listen to your voice and receive your blessing.
