Primo Maggio, Festa dei Lavoratori,

Il mio pensiero più profondo oggi è rivolto ai tutti i lavoratori e lavoratrici che hanno perso la vita sul posto di lavoro. Hanno lasciato le loro case al mattino con dignità per guadagnarsi da vivere, e non hanno fatto più ritorno alle loro famiglie.

Fortunatamente, nei miei quarant'anni lavorativi (1969-2009) trascorsi alla Cucirini Cantoni Coats, non ho mai dovuto assistere ad infortuni gravi o, peggio ancora, mortali. Ma so bene che in troppe altre realtà questo dramma succede. Proprio per questa solidarietà, noi dipendenti di altri stabilimenti partecipavamo alle manifestazioni, e chiedevamo a gran voce alle istituzioni maggiore sicurezza sul lavoro.

 La sicurezza sul lavoro è un tema cruciale che non può essere ignorato. Ogni giorno, migliaia di persone si recano nei loro posti di lavoro con la speranza di tornare a casa sani e salvi. Tuttavia, incidenti e infortuni continuano a verificarsi, spesso a causa di negligenze o mancanza di adeguate misure di sicurezza.

È fondamentale che le aziende investano nella formazione e nella prevenzione per garantire un ambiente di lavoro sicuro. I lavoratori devono essere consapevoli dei rischi e avere accesso a dispositivi di protezione individuale adeguati. Inoltre, è importante che ci sia un dialogo aperto tra datori di lavoro e dipendenti per identificare e risolvere potenziali pericoli.

La sicurezza sul lavoro non è solo una questione di conformità legale, ma un diritto umano fondamentale. Ogni vita persa o ferita sul lavoro è una tragedia che può e deve essere evitata.

In questo PRIMO MAGGIO, impegniamoci tutti a promuovere una cultura della sicurezza che protegga il benessere di ogni lavoratore e lavoratrice.

 

 

May 1st, Labor Day,

My deepest thoughts today are with all the workers who lost their lives on the job. They left their homes in the morning with dignity to earn for living, and never returned to their families.

Fortunately, in my forty years of work at Cucirini Cantoni Coats, I never had to witness serious or, worse still, mortal injuries. But I know that this tragedy happens in too many other stablishments. Precisely because of this solidarity, we employees of other factories participated in the demonstrations, and loudly asked the institutions for greater safety on work.

 May 1st is a day dedicated to workers, a time to reflect on rights and working conditions. Safety at work is a crucial theme that cannot be ignored. Every day, thousands of people go to their jobs with the hope of returning home healthy and safe. However, accidents and accidents continue to occur, often due to negligence or lack of adequate security measures.

It is essential that companies invest in training and prevention to guarantee a safe work environment. Workers must be aware of the risks and have access to adequate individual protective equipment. In addition, it is important that there is an open dialogue between employers and employees to identify and resolve potential dangers.

Safety at work is not only a matter of legal conformity, but a fundamental human right. Every life lost or wounded at work is a tragedy that can and must be avoided.

In this May 1st, we all commit to promoting a security culture that protects the well -being of each worker.
